Welcome to Year 4 Ruby!

Our class teacher is Mr Atkinson and our teaching assistant is Miss Smith.

Our topic this half term is:

LIVING DANGEROUSLY

As Readers and Writers we will focus on investigating the features of our class texts ‘The Wind in the Willows’ and ‘Escape from Pompeii’.  We will be writing descriptions of characters from the text, diary entries and our own versions of the stories.  We will complete reading comprehension work, extracting information from a range of texts.

In Maths we will be looking at the value of four digit numbers and partitioning numbers into thousands, hundreds, tens and ones and we will write numbers as words focusing on spelling them correctly.

For more details about the exciting things we are learning this half term please download our curriculum overview at the bottom of the page.

Year 4 is an exciting year. It is our final year in Lower Key Stage 2 before we move up to year 5 and wear purple jumpers!

We also have Whitby to look forward to in a few months. It is a fantastic residential and for some children it will be the first time they have stayed away from home. It will be a great experience.
