We recognise that good attendance and punctuality is crucial to raising standards and pupil attainment.  Any absence affects the pattern of a child’s schooling and regular absence will seriously affect their learning.  Any pupil’s absence or late arrival disrupts teaching routines and so may also affect the learning of others in the same class.

We expect all children to attend school every day.  Ensuring a child’s attendance at school is a parental responsibility and permitting absence from school without a good reason is an offence of the law and may result in prosecution.

We as a school strive to achieve AT LEAST 96% total school attendance each week. We send a text each Friday informing our parents of the schools attendance for that week, and include the same information on our weekly newsletters, these are available to view in the newsletters section.

We will do all we can to encourage the children to attend, and put in place appropriate procedures to support this.  We need the support of our parents. We have an attendance team who call each day at the houses of children who are not in school who have not reported an absence to us.
