Year 2 Bluebell

Welcome to Year 2 Bluebell!

Our teacher is Miss Kosar.

We follow our three school rules, ‘Be Ready, Be Respectful and Be Safe’ at all times and are super proud to be a part of Year 2 Bluebell. We show we are ready to learn by sitting smartly and we show we are listening by looking and waiting to talk. We are respectful of ourselves, our friends and our property. We are kind, helpful and thoughtful children who love helping each other and the adults in our class. We show we are safe by following the routines, expectations and instructions given in class, using kind hands and kind words.

In our class we all have our own jobs and responsibilities such as washing up, tidying the cloakroom or handing things out. We always try our best and when we reach our goals we are rewarded. When we work hard and do the right thing, we earn dojo points which we can save up and spend on exciting prizes at the dojo shop regularly throughout the year. We are also rewarded with stickers, postcards home and someone who has gone above and beyond is chosen to receive a gold award in our weekly celebration assembly.

Our Classroom

Our Experiences

We love real-life experiences and enjoy taking every opportunity we can to go on visits and have visitors into school. We take part in local walks, visit places of worship and visit other places related to our learning. There are lots of activities planned for later in the year so check back to see what they are and to see some photos of us having an amazing time!

Things to Remember

P.E is taught on Mondays and Fridays. Please make sure your P.E kit is in school on these days.

Reading Books

At Carrwood, we try hard to share our love of reading with the children and to teach them the importance of this in real life contexts. Each child is provided with a clear book bag which contains a reading book that is matched to their current phonic stage. As well as the book we have been reading during Read Write Inc sessions we have a ‘Book Bag’ book which is new to us and works on the same skills. Children will also bring home a book labelled “reading for pleasure” which can be enjoyed as a family at any time of the day. Book bags should be brought into school every day as we will be reading them in class too. Your child’s book will be changed weekly, on a Monday. Each time your child reads, please sign the reading bookmark to acknowledge this. When the bookmark is completed, and has been signed 10 times, this will be entered in to a raffle where your child could win an exciting prize. The raffle will be held each half term so the more times your child reads, the more bookmarks will be completed which means the chance of your child winning the prize is greater too!

Year Group Authors

Each term we focus on a particular author. We read the stories they have written, learn facts about them and their career as an author. Our year group authors in Year 2 are:
