Play is fundamental to a child’s health, happiness, development and well-being. Playtimes account for 20% of children’s time at school and we are proud to be on our OPAL journey, working towards giving our children the best playtimes possible! OPAL’s mission statement is “To ensure that every school child has an amazing playtime every day with no exceptions.” We believe that play is essential for physical, emotional, social, spiritual and intellectual development of each child.
Most of our best childhood memories are from playing outdoors, climbing trees and exploring the wide world around us. OPAL gives us the opportunity to give those memories to your children, in a safe space designed for play. OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) is all about using natural and man-made resources to allow children to be inspired and creative at playtime whilst learning and developing essential skills.
We have ambitious plans for our playgrounds and outdoor spaces, guided by a carefully designed grounds development plan that we are actively working toward. Step by step, each week and month will bring progress as we introduce new, engaging areas while continuing to develop and improve the spaces already in use.
